Issa Sawadogo

Dr. Issa Sawadogo, a national of Burkina Faso, is a researcher in animal production (animal feed, rangeland biodiversity, mobility, and conflict). A livestock engineer with a master’s degree in environmental science and a doctorate in Physiology and Biology of Organisms, Populations, and Interactions from the National Museum of Natural History in Paris, he is an expert on various topics such as territorial development, sustainable and shared management of natural resources, and the resilience of communities and ecosystems to climate change. Dr. Issa Sawadogo’s work in these areas covers all stages of the project cycle (identification, formulation, baseline assessment, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, knowledge management, and evaluation). Dr. Sawadogo has been working for almost 30 years in West Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Togo) and Central Africa (Cameroon, Sao Tome and Principe) in partnership with various national and international organizations such as ECOWAS, UEMOA, CILSS, ILRI, IUCN, SNV, WHH, etc. He is also a member of the IUCN’s “Ecosystem Management” Commission, which he is responsible for in Burkina Faso.
